Glycol Unit Install

1/3 HP, 1/2 HP, 1/2+ HP , 3/4 HP

Power Requirements:

For models ranging from 1/3 to 3/4 HP, a dedicated 20-amp, 115V electrical circuit is required.

A 20-amp power cord is provided.

Level the unit.

Ensure the unit is installed on a level surface capable of supporting its weight.

Use installed Rubber Leveling Feet on bottom corners of the unit.

Positioning and Airflow.

Position the unit as close to the trunk line as possible in a well-ventilated area, ensuring the ambient temperature does not exceed 95°F. Maintain a minimum clearance of 12 inches around the sides and 24 inches above the unit to allow for proper airflow and servicing.

Coolant Line Installation.

The out going cooling line should be installed on the 3/8" barbed fitting on the circulation pump, The
return line to the 3/8" barbed fitting on the case marked glycol return. Using the proper oetiker clamps for the tubing size used. The
1/2 and 3/4 Hp units may have an optional second pump installed.

Adding Glycol:

Open the Coolant Fill Port – Remove the 3" threaded PVC cap located on the top of the unit.

Prepare and Add Coolant – Use a 33% mixture of food-grade antifreeze and clean water. Fill the coolant reservoir up to the bottom of the fitting.

Circulate the Coolant – Turn on the switch labeled “Pump 1” and allow the pump to circulate the coolant. Continue running the pump until all air is purged from the system and no air bubbles are returning to the coolant tank.

Maintain Proper Coolant Level – Add coolant as needed to keep the level consistent. The red “Low Glycol” indicator light should turn off once the float is reached but continue to fill until level reaches bottom of fill cap.

Inspect for Leaks – Check all coolant line connections to ensure there are no leaks before completing the process.

Refrigeration System.

Power On the Compressor – Once the previous steps are completed, turn on the switch labeled “Compressor”.

Temperature Control – The cold control is preset to shut off at 28°F, which is suitable for most applications. If adjustment is needed, refer to the “Adjusting Control” section.

System Stabilization – The unit should reach its shutoff temperature within 20 to 30 minutes, depending on ambient temperature and line length.

Monitor Operation – Observe the unit through 3 to 4 cycles to ensure proper performance.

Final Check – After the unit has been running for a few hours, recheck the coolant level in the tank and install the 3" threaded plug securely.
